Out of sync, out of time
The words match up but just don't rhyme
I know it now, but not back then
It is so hard to remember when

If I knew then what I know now
I would not sit here wondering how
You put that gun up to your head
Pulled the trigger, now you're dead

Wondering what I could have done
To make your life a more precious one
I search for answers that are not there
No note, no clues, anywhere

You are gone, the die is cast
Your final action erased the past
I can't look back or look ahead
I feel nothing except for dread

I dread the legacy you left our son
Questions about your life undone
How could you go with no goodbye
He fears your love was just a lie

Life goes on, that is my choice
I miss your presence, the sound of your voice
But I must stop wondering "why"
And accept the fact you CHOSE to die.
