Brian wrote this a couple years back. The darkness still got him.

Metamorphosis
So much time has passed me by
As i watch the world from a distance
Trying to be what i am not or will never be
i have been shrouded in darkness for so long
Meandering through the shadows
Searching hopelessly for a portal ...an escape
i have discovered a secret entity
Hidden deep within
Trying to be set free
But the shadows still pull at me
Trying to take it all away
Now that i have seen the other side
i no longer need to hide in the darkness
Someday soon i hope to walk away and never return

But for now, this is me...
i will continue moving forward
Searching to find my own identity
i can't change their perceptions
