In 2 Years

2002
Our family lost you
Venezuela suffered under a coup
A new Nation was born
The peace process in the Middle East is worn.

A bomb killed one hundred
Miners were trapped
Snipers terrorized the Capitol
People say embryonic stem cell research is whacked

2003
North Korea withdraws from nonproliferation
President Bush gives the State of the Nation
Ariel Sharon becomes Prime Minister
The world declares Saddam sinister

The US goes to war to set the Iraqi people free
Libya accepts responsibility for Flight 103
America mourns the loss of Columbia and its men
California votes Arnold Schwarzenegger in

2004
Afghanistan approves its new constitution
Employees of Enron continue to seek restitution
The post-war fight continues in Iraq
And you are still gone, you can’t come back

The years have past with lightening speed
But they haven’t granted us a reprieve
From the pain of the loss we continue to feel
It’s not in the paper, can it be real?
