Today I'm moving
am I leaving you behind?
Getting away from this apartment
where memories of you standing there
or when you were right here
and coming through the door
on the patio smoking
reading in our bedroom
the stove you made baby your prized french toast
leaving you behind

Today I'm moving
I bought a new bed
brand new, never broken by me and you
No more noise when I lay down
less pain when I wake up
old bed tell your stories to another

Today I'm moving
leaving you behind
Making a new life if only in my mind
the walls untouched
the floors you never stepped
the wash you haven't done
the tub you never used
I will miss this place
I'm leaving it behind
I'm leaving you if only in my mind
