I am stuck in a world where I don’t belong
And the things surrounding me are simply wrong
To be free of the chains of my guilt and shame
Free of the suicide of my friend Dave

And the pain that I feel is still brewing thoughts
Of what it is worth and just what I’ve got
A life that is wealth but a heart that is hurt

Did he have the right answer within my words
Did I give him the strength to pull that trigger
I have the soft sound of his voice in my mind
Contrasted against what happened that night

I put all Dave’s things inside one box
And I tried to tape it up real tight
To keep all these feelings wrapped in that place
If just to end the torture and pain
Perhaps it is where this me needs to be
Buried within Dave’s memories
In a private space
