Almost a year

alomst a year now
without you near me
still missing you
why couldn't you see?

Part of my soul died
the day you took your life,
all of my hopes died
that someday I'd be your wife.

I miss your smile
and your gently caring way
want to be held
why couldn't you have stayed?

I miss your laugh
and how it warmed my heart
didn't you know how
this would tear me apart?

I wear your sweater
and pretend I'm in your arms
then I hang it back up
like a precious golden charm.

No doubt about it Ken
I miss you each day
and just wish in my heart
you would have chosen to stay.
